Sick :(

9/21/2017

As much as I wish this was just a regular old cold, so I could still sit upright and still make things for our simmies, I've been pretty much bed-ridden for a week lol. Just wanted to give y'all an update :)

Electrolytes!

Hopefully be back to making stuff soon, I'd love to try my hand at maybe some eyeshadow or eyeliners.

Hope you all are doing well.

Update

8/23/2017

So I'm still doing pretty well with eyebrows still, I'm making little tweaks here and there to try to figure out how to keep them from looking so blurry in game, is weird, looks more detailed in the viewer on Sims4Studio than in game, I'll keep at it of course.

I've been tinkering around with lipsticks as well, there is seriously a lack of tutorials on this, how the heeeel others figured it out is beyond me. I got frustrated after three days of messing around with that and went back to eyebrows to keep from losing my ever-loving mind.

Maybe I will play around with eyeliner to see how that goes.

I have more eyebrows on the way, submitted them almost a week ago, no idea -shrug-

All of this is taking me a little more time too as I am still stuck mouse-drawing until I can afford a drawing surface. So I have to keep messing with each item until it's how I'd like it to look, they still never seem to look in game how they look in my photoshop or Sims4Studio, the detail seems to diminish GREATLY.

I'm also still working on the CAS blog I have set up, hopefully that'll be done soon.
Too many projects o.o

Anywho, hope you're enjoying your week everyone.

Still here lol

8/17/2017

I've just been working on a second blog for my CAS creations.
During that process I've discovered some wonderful updates that I can make to this blog as well, so that will be going on too.

It's coming along pretty well :-)

Here's my first CAS item for ya (I'll be posting these here until I can get the other site going)

First CAS Item

8/09/2017

I've finished with my first CAS Item, Eyebrows.

It was quite fun to finally get to create something of my own, and to play around editing the main photos for it.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly and they are approved. I followed tutorials to the T and there weren't any guidelines for Eyebrow submissions, so I just followed what other submitters have done and have had published in the last few days.

Fingers crossed.

If that goes well then I will delve into making several of these before moving on to lip colors/lipstick.

Yay!

Ermagerd.

I. Has. Photoshop.

So, after a long time of not being able to acquire Photoshop, complaining, scouring the internet with gimp work-arounds and tutorials (to no avail) and ultimately being held back with my design progress, I now possess the capabilities of moving forward to actual creation and not just skillfully assembling creations using other's work. I want to have work of my own to use as well.

Gimp is a powerful beast in itself, but I was just dinking around in Photoshop today and found a single tool already that would cut my workflow in half. HALF people. Half.
I also found tools that make selection and other things way easier, it just cuts down so much time, I can achieve very much the same with Gimp but it's tedious and painful.

Now to save up for a drawing tablet, while I have gotten quite skillful with mouse drawing, I do think a tablet is in order.

So excited to get to work on something this weekend.

Hmm, what to do first?  Objects or CAS.

- Also I have completed a male sim that is stunning if I do say so myself, but of course my tastes are my own. He's ruggedly handsome, and unintentionally bears a striking resemblance to my RL hubby, minus the adorable crow's feet.

Aged Wood Set 06 is the also on the way.

I am putting off building houses for the time being while I get to work on long awaited projects that were put off due to the problems I ran into prior to getting Photoshop. Now I can properly follow along the plethora of tutorials regarding proper textures and such for my meshes.

This day started off to be really rough, but you have no idea what being able to move forward in my designing means, for years I have been frustrated, cried, worked through the night, researched, failed more than I can count, searching for that light at the end of the tunnel, cliche I know, but can truly say I'd do it all again if it's part of my eventual success in becoming a respected designer. One can only hope. Here's to hope.

Stuff On The Way

7/30/2017

Hope everyone's weekend is to their liking.  :)

So the last two aged wood sets are submitted and on the way, I am also working on a female sim.

I posted a FAQ page, and updated the Welcome Page.

I am also going to start offering Site Exclusives, I know right, ooo exclusives, LOL am I the only one that thinks that sounds ostentatious,  anyway not because they are la-ti-da or anything but due to certain limitations/restrictions/guidelines elsewhere.

Due to this I will also be able to model and present my creations to my personal preferences.
Catering to my need to have a more creative outlet platform and improving user experience.
It's a win-win.

More Sims Incoming

7/21/2017

So, air conditioner broke IRL and it was 90 degrees in this place, inside, no idea what it was outside, and I had to turn the computers off, holy god.  Now that it's fixed, I could get back to work on stuffs.

Thus far,

I have a female sim on the way.

I have also finished with my first male sim. He turned out VERY nice. :P

Zhara and Seth will be available soon.

I also need to get the other 3 aged wood sets on the way.

I plan to have all of these submitted before Monday, key word being "plan" there.
Provided no more catastrophes happen, lol.

Working working lala

7/10/2017

Still waiting for approval for another sim (Siobhan) and a texture set.

I've finished another sim and am doing photos for 5 other texture sets.
I'm quite happy with how they turned out!

Also working on that home as well.

Hopefully those others will get approved soon, fingers crossed.

Very eager to share all 6 texture sets and the two sims with you all, I want to make another female sim but after that I will make some male sims for sure.

Very much enjoying all of this creativity, I've never really been one to focus on just one specific thing to be creative, I love creating for Sims because I get to do all sorts of things, landscaping, architecture, interior design, texture design, sim designs, then I get to take photos and enter a whole new realm of creativity. Bringing life to the photos, playing with fonts, borders, etc.

I also enjoy writing so writing descriptions and such for my creations is fun too.

Looking forward to making objects one day!

Anywho, very happy Torque here. :-P

Sim Designs - Luna Oakley

7/07/2017

I've started releasing my sim designs, yay!

Luna Oakley is available now :)

Can just click the pic to see more/download

In the works...

7/05/2017

So I have a few things in the works...

I've decided to share my sim creations so I've been modelling them, getting their proper CC links together and everything.

I'm also working on another home, different style this time. It's about half-way done.

I'm probably going to throw in some textures too.

I've also been doing more research on why I can't seem to make objects properly, I've followed this one gimp tutorial for specular and normal maps probably 100 times and it's still wrong. Hmmm.

And sometimes my objects become corrupt, or something called a hard-meld. I'm such a newbie still at all of this, but I feel that I am very close.

Anywho! More stuff coming soon :-)

APEX - Now Available

7/02/2017

APEX home is now available. Click the pic to check out more information and see tons of other photos.

I do have to say though, I really...wanted this to be featured, as usual, it was not. I really try to step up with each creation to hopefully get some recognition but mainly so people can enjoy them as much as I did creating it. I check each morning, hoping it's there on the front page, and it never is. Just another 60+ hour build lost that will just get a trickle of downloads and mostly be hidden. It's just discouraging is all. The biggest reason I enjoy doing this is sharing my creations with the community, and hearing from them. Not going to lie, it would also be a nice feeling just to SEE one of my creations on the front page more often than not, it'd be a nice motivator for sure. I think it's just because I'd at least know it's being seen, you know?  I'll keep trying...

In the meantime, I hope anyone who sees this, enjoys it :-)

Tutorials

6/29/2017

I now have a tab at the top of my page labeled "Tutorials"

I'll make sure to add some more later, but for now I have a "How to install homes with custom content" tutorial available for those who would like to read it.

It also addresses some answers to known problems when installed lots that have custom content.
So it may offer you some answers to those questions as well.

Hope it helps!

3 New Walls

6/25/2017

Well I submitted 3 new walls almost a week ago, and they are still pending..so I guess as soon as those get approved I will have those available for you guys.

:-)

In the meantime, I've been working on an awesome home :-)

Definitely my favorite so far.

Older Home Remasters

6/15/2017

Hey all, due to past game updates breaking things in Sims 4 (grr lol) it caused missing items (most likely due to creators who made new object updates after the fixes that have new item IDs etc) and other issues, when I find some extra time I will go back over these homes and remaster them and re-release the new file with remastered photos as well (Now that I know how to do them properly without the squishing lol) Thanks!

More Textures On The Way...

6/06/2017

Still working on the second contemporary home, but today I spent time putting together more textures, I might find use for these in my build, too.

Soon!

Marble Tile Floor Set - Available Now

6/02/2017

A Set of 3 different marble tile floor, available in 2 colors  ( White + Black marble) and 2 different sized tiles (Large and Small tiles), so 4 swatches per floor in the set.

Contemporary Home Update

6/01/2017

So I'm finished with the contemporary home, but one of the floor textures used in the home just got approved, it's the floor set I was working on.

As soon as that is released I can properly provide the link for it when I upload my house for yall.

Working on another contemporary home in the meantime.

Upcoming

5/28/2017

So I'm still working on the large contemporary home, it's taking time like all of my builds.

But on the way is a floor set so yay.

Upcoming Projects

5/24/2017

So I'm working on a few different things :-)

I have a large contemporary house in the making as well as matching Wall and Floor set, but whenever I want a change I work a little bit on my second attempt at an object set, lol.

Anywho here is a looksie.

Industrial Complex Update

4/18/2017

Sorry for the delay! Plus I've been trying to work on this and remodel my living room IRL so it's been a bit busy :-)

-T

-Edit-

I've now redone photos, and submitted the home, if all goes well, should be available in the next couple of days.

Approved :-) Will be released 4/22

The Industrial Complex

4/15/2017

Well, after a month, it's here.

As much as I wanted to feature furniture sets made by myself, that'll be a ways to go yet.

So I went back and filled those areas with different CC, so I could at least release this.

Can click the pic to see tons of more pics, it'll be available soon, the next couple of days.

Published!

4/09/2017

Two more textures available now :-)

Back to Basics

4/07/2017

So I decided to go back and I've managed to correct my bump maps (I think)

But I've been working on a couple of other things, to take my mind off the frustrations of my last creation's problems, lol.

If everything goes alright I'll be releasing these textures soon.

Here's a little preview.

Industrial/Urban Brick Walls

Custom Content Progress 4/5

3/24/2017

Submission rejected, for numerous reasons. I apparently still have no idea what I'm doing, everything looked fine to me in my game, but I guess I still need to learn a lot.
I worked really hard on this set, so no one could be more disappointed than I.
I will definitely keep working on this, things have always been harder for me to learn due to a difference in learning requirements that I've had my whole life, the generic way of teaching caused my grades to plummet, but when presented with a different teaching method, my grades skyrocketed. So for me to even have gotten this far as I've had is quite the achievement,  to convert multiple tutorials to my way of learning the best I knew how, and obviously not entirely because I still messed everything up, lol.

Maybe I can post this set and try to get some people who know something to beta test this for me and try to help me figure out where I'm going wrong. I know what I need the mesh to DO and to look like in blender but telling the software that is another story. I also spend hours just trying to get something to unwrap, when I should just be able to click "unwrap" I shouldnt have to spend like a few hours creating the mesh and two days just trying to get it to unwrap, and even then it's not right. Ah lordy.

And even though I followed the bump map and specular map tutorials to the T, they are fouled up as well. And something about the dirt overlays needing to be updated. No idea how to do that, and haven't found documentation on how to do so. Also I was told the package files are corrupted. Which is weird because they load into my mods folder fine. I can also go into a package editor and look at everything. Also my poly count is too high, even though they were about the same poly counts as other artist's similar items. I don't know where to even begin. I'm not remaking the objects, as there shouldn't be a need to do so.

Well at least for now I can look at the objects lol.

Argh.

3/22/2017

Well, I have been having good progress with learning to design my own meshes, I have a tub finished but when I bake the mesh with my textures and everything, load it up in Sims4Studio and everything looks fine. I get into the game and the textures are all fouled up. I have been researching bump maps, speculars, etc, all..day. I've tried everything, guess I'm going to have to ask someone to look at it and hopefully they can help me figure out how I can make this damned thing.

As for the progression photos for my industrial complex build, I didn't get around to it.
For now I am just frustrated beyond belief. I really want to release this build on TSR and have my furniture sets available so people can include that in their home. I also want to be able to upload my own personal variation of the build (Much awesomer) on my page at the same time.

So until I can figure out what's going on with this mesh, the industrial complex will be delayed, unfortunately. I really want it to be right.

I guess I'll have to work on a different home to be released in the mean time maybe.

Sighhh I have no idea how people do this stuff so easily, without a design degree at least.
